BRAVO ZULU COACHING
We all know about the value of coaching in sports, but what about coaching in the workplace? Just like a coach can help an athlete achieve their potential, a workplace coach can guide employees to build skills and improve performance.
Line Managers are the key to creating healthy and productive places to work. They set the tone, create expectations and are best placed to spot problems and nip instances of conflict in the bud. However, they are often under extreme pressure and faced with a wide range of competing priorities. Sometimes they lack confidence to tackle what they perceive is a difficult employees issue. This means that developing the people skills they need is a constant challenge. Coaching can be used to optimise performance of an employee as it focuses on specific skills and goals to help them develop personal attributes such as social interaction and confidence for example. Coaching can be for a set period of sessions or become an ongoing process which can form the basis of an on-going management style.
